Diminishing Character Individuality with each GW expansion
I spoke with ncsoft representative and as it stands now nightfall will have fewer initial facial builds than did factions, which had fewer than the original GW release. As you may or may not be aware the programs nerfed some female hairstyles from GW, leading to a community uproar and reinstitution of these character features. One of the enjoyable aspects of GW was the ability to initially create a character that literally had 1000+ semi-unique facial characteristics (between hair style, color, etc). With Factions the choices decreased exponentially. Apparenetly this trend will continue unless the GW community informs the developers of Nightfall, that we do not want fewer choices - ie, we would like to keep the number of choices of facial characteristics, hair styles, skin tone, etc, to be equivalent to the GW choices as of 1/06. If we do not inform the developers that we would like to increase the our initial choices (i do not mean alter in game, rather at time of creation), then we end up with as few as several dozen clones - confusing at the least and deadly in PvP (all the members of both teams could be twins, triplets, etc) and at the least a less colorful gaming environment. If you agree the GW comminuty should communicate this to the developers before it is too late.

You can't "nerf" hairstyles. iirc, that was just a mistake...

It's bad enough already. 50% of Tyrian female monks have exactly the same hair.

Yeah. You really should be able to mix and match faces from every chapter, assuming you've added that chapter onto gw.

Agreed
Greetings,
I agree that there needs to be more diversity in character appearance at creation. People have a hard enough time using dyes to make their own armor unique, we don't need to all look the same facially as well.
I believe 8-10 choices (whatever it was in Prophesies) per facial characteristic should be enough to create a good diversity.
Now, I understand that ANet has to limit the choices to keep with the feel of the current chapter, but please ANet, give us enough choices to feel unique. I don't really feel like running into a clone of myself.

Please do not try to disguise a rant of racial tone of color in a thread.

Even if he hasn't spoken with them I belive it's a good thing to let developers know that the community is concerned about the number of hair/face/skin tone styles for their characters before Nightfall is released, becouse the way the game and players' avatars look like IS important for players. And 3 styles to choose from is DEFENETLY not enough, number of choices in Factions was already low, imho.

flat out you are not being accurate about that.
proof of that being if you actually happened to know someone with those details he/she would be in violation of the employee NDA
secondly they stated the selection available at the BETA even was only part of what would be avaiulable.
the biggest bitching boils down to skin color so far and if that is enough to make you stay away good riddence
edit to change lying to not accurate

Please lock this im sick of seeing threads that provide no proof and seem to just be conspiracy theories put together by people who have no life.
I DO agree with more choices, but dont make a simple hairstyle glitch followed by your "contact" into another rumour. Ignorance FTL

*tries to remember the last time he tried to identify friend or foe by face or hairstyle**

Never.
That's why we have colored names and capes, nobody in their right mind would try to ID people by face art.
Geez, half the time I can't figure out what the difference from one face choice to the next is in the character generator, I can't imagine trying to detect that difference in the middle of a fight.
If you want more choices find, but don't bury what you want in all this other bluster it just undermines your point.
